Nu doar pentru lucru, ci şi pentru distracţie. Pe lângă latura funţională, un sistem de operare bazat pe Linux are şi o faţă ascunsă plină de surprize. Iată cateva dintre ele:
Tastaţi Alt+F2 şi introduceţi:
1.„free the fish”. Tastaţi Enter iar un peşte va fi eliberat pe desktop. O altă modalitate de a-l porni, este clic dreapta pe bara GNOME->About Panels şi apăsaţi tasta „F” de trei ori.
2.„ gegls from outer space”.Tastaţi Enter iar pe spaţiul de lucru va rula un joc.
Porniţi consola şi introduceţi:
3.„aptitude moo” şi tastaţi Enter. Apoi reintroduceţi „aptitude moo -v” şi tot asa pâna se va ajunge la comanda „aptitude moo -vvvvvv”
4.„apt-get moo”. Va fi afişat un desen urmat de fraza „...."Have you mooed today?"...”.
5.„apt-get help”. La final veţi fi întâmpinat de un mesaj: „ This APT has Super Cow Powers.”
6.„aptitude help”. La final va apărea mesajul „ This aptitude does not have Super Cow Powers.”
7.„ddate”. Va fi afişat mesajul „Today is Prickle-Prickle, the 45th day of Bureaucracy in the YOLD 3174 ”
8.„ ddate 8 6 1957”. Va fi afişat mesajul „Prickle-Prickle, Confusion 13, 3123 YOLD ”
9.„cowsay 'Tip of the Trade rocks!'”. Va fi dezvăluit un desen.
10.„cowsay -f head-in.cow ouch”. Va fi afişată o nouă imagine.
11.„zgrep "The.*Release" /usr/share/doc/dpkg/changelog.Debian.gz”. Va fi afişată următoarea listă:

Firefox. Deschideţi un nou tab şi introduceţi următoarele cuvinte in loc de URL:

Deschideţi Open Office Word Processor şi introduceţi:
19.„StarWriterTeam”, urmat de tasta F3, va afişa numele şi echipa StarWrite.
20.„GoOOTeam”, urmat de tasta F3, va afişa numele şi echipa GoOO
21.Mergeţi la Help->About OpenOffice.org şi tastaţi consecutiv Ctrl + S, D, T. Va apărea lista contribuitorilor
Deschideţi Open Office Calc şi introduceţi:
22.„=GAME()” Răspunsul va fi:"say what?"
23.„=GAME("Froggie")” şi va fi afişsat „Froggie”. Introduceţi din nou intr-o nouă celulă „=GAME("Froggie")” şi va fi returnat textul urmator:„oh no, not again!”
24.„=GAME(A2:C4;"TicTacToe")” în celula A1 şi apăsaţi Enter. Un joc „X si 0” va fi rulat.
25.„=GAME("StarWars")” iar un joc va rula pe spaţiul de lucru.
26.„=ANTWORT("Das Leben, das Universum und der ganze Rest")” urmat de Enter. Rezultatul va fi numărul 42 din „ Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy”
27.„=STARCALCTEAM()”. Va fi afişată o imagine cu echipa de dezvoltare StarCalc
28.„=TTT()” şi va fi afişată o iconiţă simbolică.
